This week the new series of The Great British Bake off is started, and It's one of my guilty pleasures. I get very addicted, and prepare myself with cakes and tea, and shout at the TV. It can be a lot of fun, so this week I am passing up my usual Colour Collectiving, as I'll be on a train on Friday night, and have created this cute mouse, sneaking a nibble of a cupcake.

I hope you all enjoy a moment of peace with tea/coffee and cake this weekend!

A story so classic with a title held with deep respect, tinged with awe and veneration. The Secret Garden is one of those books which is held with reverence in the hearts of many. The wonder of finding a hidden place where, despite all your troubles, a child can be a child. The child in me still longs for such a carefree place.

Mary feels so much woe and fear in the outside world, yet in the garden she finds a place where she can understand what it is to love life. It's such a pos...

This little lady has managed to steal some cake! Brilliant bouffant blue hair is all the rage, je ne sais qoui!

I found a quote online and just adored it, so I illustrated it "If you're going to lick the icing off somebody else's cake you won't be nourished and it won't do you any good, or you might find the cake had caraway seeds, and you hate them." (Emily Carr)

This is Lola.

She is rubbish at hunting, she'd sooner run away from a bird than catch it. She is a gentle cat, and when the weather is pleasant, I see her ears poking out from behind bushes and weeds. I was doodling in my bedroom and half watching her poke around in some long grass outside. I imagined the adventures she might have in her own little garden jungle!

Recently, I have been illustrating some educational song books, which have been a real delight! I'm really thrilled that the Bright gr...

Over a year ago I finished my dissertation all about the Arabian Nights, and It was about time I rekindled that love for those vivid and magical fairy-tales set in the East! It was great to try and emulate the motion and fluidity of the flying carpet cutting through a rich jewel coloured Indian inspired scene.

I'd like to thank everyone on Twitter who gave this a little star, and any comments brought forward. It's always nerve wracking posting work, so it's lovely to have such a...

This weekend feels like a world away from last. With the weight of deadlines hanging over me, I hardly slept and missed out on seeing friends, much to my chagrin, I even missed my best friend's birthday party.

I have slowly overcome my worries this week and am feeling quietly happy. Although, as it is bank holiday weekend, it means most of my friends and family are going away or have plans. So, it's left quiet and tranquil (yet only slightly lonely) for me. Which, since my last full day o...

A bit of a last minute scribble from me, but all good fun!

I had a thumping headache this Friday and I just couldn't seem focus on any details so my painting is a lot more loose than normal. Saying that, I don't think it's turned out too bad as a result, I do love getting textures into my work and despite being unsure if it would look messy or not, it was relatively interesting to watch it unfold before my eyes. Definately one of those paintings, which, it may not especially seem so,...

He's big, but not very scary. This is the Patchwork Dragon, an idea I had many months ago but never got round to colouring. So, with a week of Crimson themed Colour Collective pieces, St.George's Day Dragons and sunshine I felt the time was right to breathe life into this idea.

As I stir my morning tea, I often ponder how incredibly lucky I am to be working with some wonderful clients. I frequently wonder if I'm really good enough. It can be incredibly daunting, especially those days when deadl...
