This piece of artwork is in loving memory of my Nan. She was a remarkable and wonderful woman who lived a life full of grace, her love of dancing, flower arranging and fairies has been of great influence on my life and artwork. She was ever supportive of my work, so i'd like to continue to paint, illustrate and make stories that would make her proud.
This illustration is also inspired by a poem my Nan chose for her funeral. It is by Henry Van Dyke and is called 'Gone from my Sight'
This week I travelled back from a vist at home. The sharp cold of October, and the shortening days are inescapable now as we plunge into winter. On go our fluffy jumpers and out come the hot water bottles as we fight off the inevitable sniffles.
